The Carnauba ( Copernica Cerifera) is a palm tree which belongs to the Arecaceae family endemic of the semi-arid region of the Northeast of Brazil. It is also well-known as the life tree since it offers a lot of uses.

It is a valuable substance which is part of the composition of several industrial products like cosmetics, capsules, medicine, electronic components, foodstuffs, polish waxes and coatings.

The Carnauba groves grow in the forests of the river plains of the main rivers of Ceara, Piaui and Rio Grande do Norte, performing  an important function to keep the ecological balance of the region like the conservation of the land, fauna, rivers and natural water springs.

The extraction of the Carnauba is ecological sustainable as it is only made annually pruning and it is free of any kind of pesticides, herbicides and fertilizer.
